How Melbourne delivery works

Melbourne is our home city. Every order is cut to order, vacuum sealed and packed at Thomastown, then handed to the courier the same morning it ships. We dispatch Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a 12pm cut-off, and metro addresses receive their order 1 to 2 business days after that. It is the shortest transit leg we run anywhere in the country.

Nothing arrives frozen unless you ask for it. Every cut is sealed in cryovac and packed in an insulated box with chilled gel packs, rated to hold safe temperature for 24 hours in transit and a further 12 hours on your doorstep, with up to 10 weeks of refrigerated shelf life from packing while the seal stays intact.

What you are actually buying

We buy direct from named Australian producers rather than through a wholesale pool. Cape Grim and Bass Strait supply 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef from Tasmania. OBE Organic runs certified organic cattle in the Channel Country. Southern Ranges, Greenham and Angus Pure cover the grass-fed premium end, and Stone Axe, Shimo, Margaret River and King River cover Wagyu.

Every cut is MSA graded, hormone free and antibiotic free. The producer, feed type and marble score are stated on each product page. If a claim is not on the page, we are not making it.

Choosing a marble score

Marble score does more to shape how a steak eats than the cut does. MB2 to MB4 grass-fed suits weeknight cooking and roasting, and anything you want to taste beefy rather than rich. MB4 to MB5 gives more forgiveness on the grill. MB6 and above is Wagyu territory, best cooked hot and fast, sliced thin and served in smaller portions than most people expect.

Paying for MB9 and then cooking it through to medium-well wastes both the marbling and the money.

Regional Victoria and interstate

The flat $30 applies across Australia, not only Melbourne. Regional Victoria adds 1 to 2 days on top of metro transit, and interstate metro runs 2 to 3 days for New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT, or 3 to 5 for Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania.
